Off to a good start.....

January was filled with twice weekly appearances on The Wrightstuff engaging in live debate conversations with Matthew Wright and his celebrity panel to include the lovely talented actress Susie Amy (Footballers' Wives). I featured last
September with Susie in conversation with Matthew for a Lady in Red special feature with none other than Chris Deburgh. It was so nice to see her again and I'll be booking up to see her in her forthcoming touring stage production. I appeared live on air discussing with Matthew the Scottish Criminal System letting down a rape victim and on a lighter note, I was asked to help the discussion on the pros and cons of Car Insurance Quotes for young drivers. Meanwhile, my agent excitingly got me two auditions and put has me forward for a stage production and commercial. The auditions alone are good experience but you have to be tough in this industry and not expect anything to come of auditions; they are a hurdle in themselves to get so two already so early in the year is very exciting. I also applied for a feature film myself via connections in the industry and was very pleased when I received an email request to audition so in total, that makes THREE auditions so far this year. I recommended my son Thomas Ray and he too was approached to audition for a part. Only time will tell us................ As well as Tom finishing his Christmas stage production as the Prince in Snow White, I was also made proud to see him released in the Sainsbury's new year commercial. He's going on to feature in some short films due at festivals later this year - exciting times ahead for him.

I also felt excited for the Director John Jencks regarding his success at many Film Festivals, mainly Palms Springs, Florida with his film The Hippopotamus staring Roger Allum (Endeavour) and Matthew Modine (Stranger Things) to name but a few, based on Stephen Fry's book. I was privileged to appear in a scene with Roger and watch this amazing actor at work close hand, so close in fact as for three hours of filming, Roger had to bump into me and on each occasion, I had to look very surprised until I heard Assist Dir1 shout, "Cut, great timing!" while looking at me (Marcia Gay)! Everything is crossed for Public release.
